Efatar Engineering Company, a partnership company, was registered on May 1, 1982 and Mr. Michael Siu was one of the partners.

Efatar mainly handled air-conditioning and refrigeration engineering work as well as marketing of air-conditioning and refrigeration products.

Our Company was established primarily to conduct installation work of small air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems and was representing some refrigeration parts and fan coil units manufactured in U.S.A. During our early years, engineering and trading reflected our success in the refrigeration engineering and selling of Fan Coil units and we received overall market acceptance of our works and products.

The year 1985 marked the outstanding booming market of Hong Kong. In order to provide a better service and quicker deliveries to our customers, we started to keep a large quantity of stock for Fan coil Units from INTERNATIONAL and Air Handling Units from MAGIC AIRE. In 1986, we were appointed to be the agents of DATAAIRE from USA, CIAT from France, ARNEG, TELEWIG from Italy and Germany. We became a well-recognized engineering and trading company in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration.

In 1987, due to the expansion of our stock and an increase in the number of staff members, we moved to a larger self-owned office in Fotan, which provided a better and more efficient working environment with a warehouse in its vicinity.

In 1989, Hong Kong Thermo Industrial Ltd. was established as one of our subsidiaries to manufacture Air Handling Units, Coils and Condensers in Hong Kong. These products were supplied to the Hong Kong Government as well as many contractors in Hong Kong and China. Our business was breaking all records.

In the early 1990s, we realized that the growth of the Hong Kong market would be limited and therefore we started to develop new business opportunities in the overseas markets. In addition, we have been closely watching the economic developments and market environments or any new emerging markets. From 1990 to 1994, we successfully developed two major markets in Asia, exporting our products to Singapore and China. In order to penetrate the South East Asian markets, we established Efatar Engineering (Singapore) pte Ltd. in 1991.

In early 1991, we equipped ourselves with 2 sets of 'AMADA'; CNC sharing and pressing machines from Japan, thus increasing our productivity by 40%. In 1993, we imported on CNC Auto-punch from 'AMADA' and coil production line from 'TRIDAN' U.S.A., doubling our productivity. In July 1993, our company was incorporated and became Efatar Engineering Company Ltd.

In 1994, we were appointed to be the agents of FME-Fans from France, Bitzer Compressors from Germany and Cassette Fan coil Units from IMI U.K.

In the same year, our Company established a manufacturing plant with an area of 80,000 sq. feet in Shun De "The Hometown of Electrical Appliances" in the southern part of China. With this plant, we can enjoy a multifold increase in the quantity produced. Our customers included Guangzhou Dongshan Plaza, Panyu Hotel, Beijing TV Station, Zhengzhou Tobacco and Chengdu Tobacco.

The economy in China has been growing rapidly in recent years, particularly in Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta. High-rise buildings can be seen in every major city like Shenzhen, Foshan, Nanhai, and Zhuhai. As the weather in southern part of China is hot and humid and the temperature is quite high during the summer, we anticipate that the demand for central air-conditioning systems will become greater and greater in the foreseeable future. In 1996, we established Guangzhou Efatar Air-conditioning Equipment Co. Ltd. and Guangzhou Efatar Engineering Co. Ltd. to better prepare ourselves for this potential market.

While we have been closely following the quality control standards as stipulated in ISO 9001, we were confident that we would achieve the highest level of quality endorsement available nationally and internationally. In February 1996, we were awarded the ISO 9001 certification. With this award, we are ready to accept and challenges from the world and to provide the highest level of services to our customers in Asia.
